Danville Regional Medical Center Nursing Students Exceed National Pass Rates on Examination

Danville Regional Medical Center’s (DRMC’s) School of Health Professions Nursing Program recently announced that the students of its 2011 graduating class have exceeded the average national pass rate for scores on the National Council Licensing Examination (the required licensing test) for Registered Nurses (NCLEX‐RN).

Danville Regional Medical Center, along with business and physician groups, would like a way to better manage health care costs and want health consumers to get their money’s worth. They support legislation in the General Assembly that would create a statewide database using health plan or insurance claims information to track population and disease trends, spending and use patterns and service costs in relation to quality. Yet, insurers are wary of how their currently private information will be used and question the true value of the database as proposed.

DRMC Earns Highest Level of Accreditation in the State of Virginia - CME Program Receives Accreditation with Commendation for Six Years

Officials announced today that the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program at Danville Regional Medical Center (DRMC) has received full Accreditation with Commendation from the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) Intrastate Accreditation Committee (IAC) demonstrating compliance will all of the Essentials of Continuing Medical Education. This represents the highest accreditation level a CME provider can receive.

Danville Regional Medical Center Blood Donor Center will host its 2012 Reception and Recognition Celebration in honor of all DRMC blood donors and blood drive sponsors Thursday, Jan. 12, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 pm. January is National Blood Donor Month, the perfect time to pay tribute to heroes in our community who save lives by giving the gift of life, said a spokesman.
