Our History

Danville Regional Medical Center began with 28 women and a vision.  Seeing a need in the community, the Ladies Benevolent Society established a facility more than 120 years ago that was christened “Home for the Sick.”

From that modest beginning, we have grown steadily in both size and capability to ensure that residents of the Dan River region can experience excellent care close to home.
